The day of 29 February 2008 will remain a special day in the memories of Tarusa's people. In a ceremonial atmosphere, a unique cardio care unit was opened at the town's hospital. A year of renovations brought the unit -- equipped to modern European standards -- into the ordinary life of the community. The remarkable event, possibly a first in Russia, prompted congratulations from Russia's Minister of Health as well as visits from a number of Federal and regional dignitaries. The help of sponsors to the Endowment has been vital to decreasing mortality from heart disease from 36% of patients to 6%.

10.10.2007 Renewal of the therapeutics department of the hospital has been started! Repair works have become possible due to Valery Balikoev's priceless help. Irina Yasina Became the Chairman of the Endowment Board of Trustees

The endowment to help Tarusa hospital has gained new friends. Among the new members of its board of trustees are professors Sergey Abugov and Simon Matskeplishvili, cardiologists, and professor Sergey Gotiye, transplantologist, from the Russian scientific surgery center of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences; Ludmila Ulitskaya and Viktor Shenderovich, writers; and Mikhail Shevelev, a journalist. Irina Yasina, an economist, became the chairman of the board of trustees.
